Details

For guests looking for more time on the trail and a more personal connection with our dogs, the Extended Arctic Experience offers a unique opportunity to discover dog sledding at a slower pace.

Limited to only two guests per departure, this experience allows you to fully immerse yourself in the world of mushing. Each participant drives their own team of Alaskan huskies, learning to work together with the dogs and experience the rhythm of travelling through the Arctic landscape.

For this experience, we use our most experienced racing dogs—dogs who have proven themselves on some of the toughest long-distance races in Norway, including the Finnmarksløpet 1200 km. These athletes have the endurance, focus, and passion for running that makes them exceptional partners on the trail.

Before departure, your guide will introduce you to your dog team, explain the equipment, and teach you the basics of handling the sled. Once ready, you will head out into the Arctic landscape for approximately two hours of dog sledding.

The longer time on the trail allows you to go beyond a simple sled ride. You will experience the teamwork between you and your dogs, the silence of the winter landscape, and the unique feeling of travelling through nature powered only by your huskies.

After returning to the kennel, you will have time to spend with the dogs, ask questions, and learn more about their lives both on and off the trail.

A Real Dog Sledding Experience

Every expedition is unique.

Our routes and daily distances are adapted to the weather, snow conditions, and the wellbeing of our dogs. While the overall experience remains the same, no two expeditions are exactly alike.

Dog sledding is not about the destination—it's about becoming part of the team. On our expeditions, you'll drive your own sled, care for your dogs, and travel through the Arctic at the pace nature intended. Whether you join us for two days from our home kennel or embark on our five-day wilderness expedition, you'll experience dog sledding as more than an activity—it's a way of life.

No previous experience is necessary. Before setting off, our guides will teach you everything you need to know about driving a sled, working with your dogs, and traveling safely in winter conditions.

Throughout the journey, you'll work closely with your dog team, learning how to harness them, care for them, and understand their incredible enthusiasm for running. By the end of your expedition, you'll have formed a connection with your dogs that many guests describe as the highlight of their trip.

Whether you choose our 2-day or 5-day expedition, you'll leave with unforgettable memories, new skills, and a deeper appreciation for the Arctic wilderness and the remarkable dogs that make these journeys possible.

Trail style

Our expeditions are designed for those who want more than a dog sledding tour. They are an opportunity to disconnect from everyday life, slow down to the rhythm of the trail, and experience the Arctic in its purest form.

At Into Nature, we offer two carefully designed expeditions, each providing a different way to experience life on the trail.

2-Day Expedition

Our two-day expedition begins directly from our kennel, allowing you to step straight into the adventure. After learning how to handle your sled and getting to know your dogs, you'll travel through forests, across frozen lakes, and into the mountains before spending the night in a tent.

This expedition is perfect for those looking for an authentic overnight adventure while experiencing the joy of driving their own dog team.

5-Day Wilderness Expedition

For those seeking the full Arctic experience, our five-day expedition ventures into more remote wilderness areas, where we can explore longer trails, spectacular mountain landscapes, and untouched nature far from civilization.

Over five unforgettable days, you'll become part of the team—caring for your dogs each morning, driving your own sled through changing landscapes, and sharing evenings around the fire in comfortable wilderness cabins.

This is not simply a holiday activity; it's a genuine expedition that allows you to experience the Arctic as it was meant to be explored.
